"A" Mountain
Tempe Butte is the official name of this mountain, but it has been dubbed "A" Mountain because of the massive A on its face, where ASU freshman come annually to paint the A. Tradition, workouts, and great views are all supplied from this mountain, with many college kids climbing it at their leisure.
Camelback Mountain:
This is one of the most popular hiking trails in the greater phoenix area, and kids, adults, and even athletic seniors can be found hiking on this trail. Because of its popularity, it is usually packed with eager hikers.
Papago Park:
This hike is one of the easier hikes in Phoenix, and is not too far from ASU Tempe campus, with many students using this destination as an excuse to get out, watch the sunrise, take pretty photos, and enjoy nature.
Superstition Mountains:
Superstition mountain is rooted in native history, as well as a vast forest of cacti, making for a beautiful Arizona landscape. It is home to the Superstition Wilderness and the Lost Dutchman state park. The Wave Cave is a naturally forming cave in the mountain, and gives hikers great views of the magical Superstitions.
